CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-100
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
PURCHASE OF MATERIALS FOR THE A-FLOAT OVERHAUL
PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City issued a request for bids to provide materials for the overhaul of A-
Float in accordance with standard City bid procedures; and
WHEREAS, five bidders responded to the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, Matheus Lumber Company submitted the low bid of $34,660; and
WHEREAS, labor for this project will be provided in-house by Harbor Department
personnel; and
WHEREAS, funds for the overhaul of A-Float are available in the Harbor Department's
Major Maintenance and Replacement Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of$47,357 is hereby appropriated from the Harbor Department Major
Maintenance and Replacement Fund Account Number 402-0000-3071-0278 to the Harbor A-Float
Reconstruction Capital Project Fund Account Number 278-0000-3071-0000.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a contract to Matheus Lumber
Company to supply materials for the A-Float overhaul project for an amount not to exceed $34,660,
FOB Seward.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th
day of August, 1996.
