CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 96-113
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING CLEAN-UP WORK ON
TRANSMISSION LINE CONSTRUCTION, PHASE II
WHEREAS, Phase II of the 115 k V Transmission Line Construction Proj ect was completed
in 1995; and
WHEREAS, one of the permit requirements for construction of the line provides that the
City will restore the right-of-way to its original condition after completion of construction of the
line; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Forest Service has worked closely with the City to identifY and price
out the work which must be done under the permit requirements and has agreed to provide
supervision of the work if the City authorizes payment; and
WHEREAS, once the work identified by the USFS has been completed, the City must
reseed the right-of way; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the transmission line project budget to complete the
clean-up required under the permit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Davidson
Enterprises to perform miscellaneous clean-up work on the transmission line right-of-way between
Miles 18.5 and 24 of the Seward Highway for a price not to exceed $18,035.47.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 26th
day of August, 1996.
