CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-030
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE UNIVERSITY OF
ALASKA'S BUDGET REQUEST TO THE STATE LEGISLATURE
FOR ITEMS BENEFICIAL TO IMS AND THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, The University of Alaska has submitted its budget request to the state
legislature for the funding of operations which include marine research activities and
facilities developmentj and
WHEREAS, included within the budget request is funding for the Institute of
Marine Science (IMS), support for the Alpha Helix and funding for work related to the
proposed B Street Dockj and
WHEREAS, the importance of the IMS and the key role it plays in the creation of
the Alaska Sealife Center is prominently displayed in the budgetary packagej and
WHEREAS, it it beneficial to the community and to IMS to support the U of A
budget request to the legislaturej
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward hereby supports the legislative budget request
submitted by the University of Alaska for items which benefit the IMS and the
community of Seward.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
24th day of February, 1992.
