CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-032
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING SS FOR SB 301, REQUIRING
MUNICIPAL FISCAL NOTES FOR BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS
WHEREAS, the Alaska State Senate is currently considering Sponsor Substitute for
Senate Bill No. 301 which would require all bills or resolutions affecting municipalities
to contain a fiscal note estimating the financial impact to municipalities that would result
from enactment of the measure; and
WHEREAS, passage of this bill will assure that legislators consider the possible and
probable costs to municipalities of actions under their consideration; and
WHEREAS, in this era of declining aid to municipalities from state and federal
sources, it is imperative that the legislature carefully weigh the costs and benefits of
regulations affecting local governments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city of Seward urges the Legislature to approve Sponsor Substitute
for Senate Bill No. 301.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
9th day of March, 1992.
