RESOLUTION 99-092
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH SUMMIT PAVING AND CONSTRUCTION, FOR A
PRICE NOT TO EXCEED $53,638.18, TO INSTALL AND/OR REPAIR
SIDEWALK CURB CUTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY
OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, the City of Seward Engineering Department identified sidewalk curb cuts
which are required to bring the City into compliance with the American with Disabilities Act
(ADA); and
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department also identified streets which need sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, the total bid for the entire project was $178,000, but there is only $53,638.18
in the budget for this work; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the city manager to enter into a contract with Summit
Paving and Construction, for a price not to exceed $53,638.18, to install and/orrepaii sidewalk curb
cuts at various locations within the City of Seward.
Section 2. Funding for this project shall be from the Capital Acquisition Fund.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12 day
ofJuly,1999.
