CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-048
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, INCREASING THE CONTRACT
AMOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A VEHICLE FOR
THE TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, on March 23,1992, the City Council approved Resolution No. 92-039,
authorizing the purchase of a vehicle for the Electric Department to provide transporta-
tion for the transmission line inspector; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 92-039 authorized a budget not to exceed $25,278 for
the purchase of a 1992 Ford I-ton 4x4, including the purchase and installation of a service
box from Omaha Service Bodies and painting following modifications to the vehicle; and
WHEREAS, subsequently, the city found that the vehicle is a long wheel base
model with an extended bed; and
WHEREAS, this is a superior vehicle which would normally be priced much
higher than the I-ton pickup authorized for purchase by the Council; and
WHEREAS, revised quotes were requested for a larger service box to fit the longer
bed; and
WHEREAS, Truckweld submitted the low bid for a new cost not to exceed $5,800,
increasing the cost of the box by $2,230.00; and
WHEREAS, the cost of painting will exceed the original estimate by an additional
$100.00; and
WHEREAS, funds for this addition to the contract price are available in the
Transmission Line budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase a service box from
Truckweld of Alaska for a price not to exceed $5,800.00.
Section 2. The budget for painting the Electric Department's newly purchased
1992 Ford I-ton pickup truck is hereby increased by $100.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 92-048
Section 3. Resolution No. 92-039 is hereby amended accordingly.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day of April, 1992.
