CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT
FOR LIBRARY ROOF REPAIR
WHEREAS, in August 1991 the city publicly advertised for bids to repair the roof
on the library building; and
WHEREAS, two contractors, Peninsula Roofing, Inc., and Glacier Roofing, Inc.,
responded; and
WHEREAS, Glacier Roofing, Inc., submitted the low bid and has agreed that the
bid price offered last August is still acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the technical proposals for construction details, methods and
warranties included with the Glacier Roofing bid are acceptable; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to complete the roof repair as soon as possible to
prevent possible damages to the library's interior from water leakage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign a contract with Glacier
Roofing, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $26,500.00 for repair of the library roof.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to establish from library funds
a project account totalling $29,150.00 which includes a change order contingency in the
amount of $2,650.00.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of April, 1992.
