CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ESTABLISHING A BAIL SCHEDULE FOR
PARKING VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City Council has instructed the city administration to address
seasonal parking problems in the Seward Small Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS, in order to enforce City Code established parking provisions, the
Police Department proposes to employ two seasonal parking enforcement officers; and
WHEREAS, the current bail schedule levies a $10.00 fine for all parking violations
with the exception of "parking in a handicapped space"; and
WHEREAS, in order to generate sufficient revenues to offset the personnel costs
associated with the hiring of parking enforcement officers, the city proposes to establish
a new bail schedule; and
WHEREAS, a significant increase in the fine for parking violations should also
result in greater compliance with parking regulations in the Small Boat Harbor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The following bail schedule for parking violations within the city of
Seward is hereby ADOPTED:
Offense
Fine
Overtime parking in a 4-hour lot
Camping in a 30-day lot
Overtime parking on a public street
Parking where prohibited
Blocking a driveway

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
