Sponsored by: Schaeferrneyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 92-113 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE WATER AND SEWER TARIFF AND THE SEWARD FISHERIES, INC., WATER RATES AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 1993 Water and Sewer budgets, approved by the City Council on June 8, 1992, were based on rate increases; and WHEREAS, the Seward City Code provides that city utility rates be set by resolution of the Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The city Water Tariff is hereby amended by substituting Attachment I, incorporated herein by reference, for pages 3-6, 3-7, and 3-9 of the tariff as approved with the adoption of Resolution No. 92-065 on May 11, 1992. Section 2. The city Sewer Tariff is hereby amended by substituting Attachment II, incorporated herein by reference, for pages 4-2 and 4-3 of the tariff approved with the adoption of Resolution No. 92-066 on May 11, 1992. Section 3. The Retail Sales Agreement between the city and the Seward Water Utility is hereby amended by substituting Attachment III, incorporated herein by reference, for Attachment A to Resolution No. 92-072. adopted on May 11, 1992. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd day of June, 1992. Each will be computed as a separate bill. Except, where an ~ting activity is served by several metered services and historically the services have been combined _ compute the monthly bill, the metered consumption for that activity will be totalled prior to computing the monthly bill. This exception is not applicable to new services initiated after July 1, 1990. The city may negotiate a special contract with a user that consumes in excess of 3.0 million gallons of water per month for at least six months during a twelve month period. Such contracts will set a rate which will assure that the user pays its full share of the utility's fixed and variable operating and maintenance costs. All special contracts shall be approved by resolution of the City Council. GROUP E - SPECIAL RATES AND FEES Group E includes charges for other categories of service not included in Groups A through D. 1. Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) $22.00 2. Fire Hydrant Use Permit This rate is set for contractors or other temporary water users, but not for bulk water service to ships or tanker trucks serving ships or industries, as follows: Basic Service: PLUS daily fee: PLUS weekly fee: $ 16.50 $ 22.00 $132.00 . 3. Water Service Connection Fee: Up to 1" service not longer than 60 feet, one time charge of $1~.00. In excess of 60 feet - actual cost, but not less than $1~.00. City of Seward, Alaska June 22, 1992 Resolution No. 92-113 Attachment III ATTACHMENT A (Amended) TO RETAIL WATER SALES AGREEMENT BETWEEN SEWARD WATER UTILITY AND SEWARD FISHERIES, INC. WHEREAS, Title 14, Section 14.01.040 of the Seward City Code requires that water rates and charges be set by resolution; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 92-072 approved a special retail water sales agreement with Seward Fisheries, Inc.; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to amend the water rates approved by the adoption of Resolution No. 92-072; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the following rates shall apply for water purchased by Seward Fisheries, Inc., from the Seward Water Utility: BASIS FOR MONTHLY FEE Consumption per Month Cost per 1,000 Gallons First 50,000 gallons Next 500,000 gallons Next 1,000,000 gallons Next 2,000,000 gallons All additional gallons $ 2.75 2.20 1.65 1.37 0.33 NOTE: This fee applies only to water consumption.
