HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1992-117 . . . - Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 92-117 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT TO LOAD, HAUL AND STOCKPILE WOOD-WASTE PRODUCT FROM THE CHUGACH TIMBER PRODUCTS MILL WHEREAS, on June 26, 1992, the city issued an invitation to bid on a project to load, haul and stockpile wood-waste product (hog fuel) from the Chugach Timber Products Mill; and WHEREAS, this work is part of the project to repair and restore the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon; and WHEREAS, six firms responded to the city's request for bids; and WHEREAS, the bid specifications included a provision that each bidder submit three copies of his bid; and WHEREAS, two bidders, including the low bidder, submitted only one copy of the bid; and WHEREAS, the city wishes to waive this minor irregularity; and WHEREAS, the low bid submitted by METCO, Inc., has been determined to be responsive, and the bidder has been determined to be responsible; and WHEREAS, monies are available in the Fiscal Year 1993 budget for this project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with METCO, Ine., to load, haul and stockpile wood-waste product from the Chugach Timber Products Mill for a contract price totalling $46,900. Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to establish a project budget totalling $58,900 which includes a $12,000 project contingency. . . . Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 13th day of July, 1992.
