RESOLUTION NO. 92-124
A RESOLUTION OF THE CIlY COUNCIL OF THE CIlY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING PAYMENT TO CHUGACH
ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION FOR EMERGENCY WORK PERFORMED
UNDER A MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT TO REPAIR
THE TRANSMISSION LINE DURING POWER OUTAGES
WHEREAS, from December 15, 1991, through January 7,1992, the city experienced
storm conditions which caused numerous problems with the electrical transmission and
distribution system and required the use of the city's generation system for most of that
period of time; and
WHEREAS, the city's permanent electrical crew of four men was supplemented
by additional IBEW employees supplied by Chugach Electric Association under a mutual
assistance agreement between the two utilities; and
WHEREAS, the city has received an invoice from CEA totalling $41,102.80 for the
work performed by its employees for the city of Seward;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIlY COUNCIL OF THE CIlY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a check in the amount
of $41,102.80 to Chugach Electric Association for emergency work performed under a
mutual assistance agreement to repair the transmission line during power outages.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of July, 1992.
