CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-128
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, REJECTING ALL BIDS SUBMITIED
AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO NEGOTIATE
WITH CAL WORTHINGTON FORD FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
2-DOOR, 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE FOR THE ELECTRIC DEPT.
WHEREAS, a request for bids to provide for immediate delivery of a 4-wheel
drive, 2-door vehicle for the Electric Department was properly advertised by the cityjand
WHEREAS, only two bids were received, and both included unspecified
accessories that caused the price to exceed the budgeted amountj and
WHEREAS, after contacting the two bidders it was determined that neither bidder
could provide a lower priced vehiclej and
WHEREAS, Cal Worthington Ford has indicated that it could provide for
immediate delivery of a vehicle meeting the essential specifications at a price of $21,300j
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. In accordance with Seward City Code ~ 6.10.230, all bids submitted
under the city's request for bids to provide a vehicle for the city Electric Department are
hereby REJECTED.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate with Cal
Worthington Ford for the purchase of a 2-door, 4-wheel drive vehicle for the Electric
Department for a price not to exceed $21,300.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of July, 1992.
