CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 99-101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A
$34,564.00 MUNICIPAL MATCHING GRANT FOR CURB CUTS FOR ADA
COMPLIANT -SIDEWALKS, CURBS, AND GUTTERS
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has applied for and received a Grant from the State of
Alaska in the amount of$34,564.00 for the purpose of installing ADA required curb cuts, sidewalks,
curbs and gutters; and,
WHEREAS, the City is required to match this Grant with $6,389.00 as its "local share"; and,
WHEREAS, the City has budgeted $6,389.00 from the Capital Acquisition Fund to provide
it's local share; and,
WHEREAS, the City has identified 15 new curb cuts for installation, and 27 existing curb
cuts which need repair; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council needs to formally accept the grant and appropriate the project
funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council approves Resolution 99-101, accepting the Municipal
Matching Grant for Curb Cuts for ADA Compliant-Sidewalks, Curbs, and Gutters in the amount of
$34,564.00.
Section 2. The City Council appropriates $40,953.00 to the Street and Sidewalk Fund 203
of which $34,564.00 is appropriated from the State of Alaska Grant Revenues, Account No. 203-
2030-4680.0200, and $6,389.00 was budgeted from the Capital Acquisition Fund.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 26 day
ofJuly, 1999.
