CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 99-102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE FY2000 MUNICIPAL CAPITAL MATCHING
GRANT FOR HOSE REPLACEMENT FOR THE SEWARD FIRE DEPART-
MENT, AND APPROPRIATING THE LOCAL MATCH
WHEREAS, Resolution 98-111 was passed and approved by the City Council of the City
of Seward, Alaska, on September 14, 1998, which endorsed the request for grant funding for Fire
Department fire hose replacement; and
WHEREAS, the local share amount was not appropriated for in the Six Month FY 1999 fire
department budget; and
WHEREAS, on July 8, 1999, the City of Seward was advised that the grant was approved
by the State; and
WHEREAS, a resolution must be included in the grant acceptance package stating the City
agrees to contribute the local share and list the dollar amount of the local share and source; and
WHEREAS, the grant acceptance package needs to be signed accepting the grant and it's
conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward accepts the FY2000 Municipal Capital Matching Grant and
it's conditions for hose replacement for the Seward Fire Department in the amount of $40,000.
Section 2. The City Council appropriates $47,393 to the Fire Department Fire Hose
Replacement Capital Project Fund, Account 853-8530-XXXX, of which $40,000 is appropriated
from State of Alaska Grant Revenues, Account 853-8530-4680-0200, and $7,393 from the General
Fund fund balance, Account 101-000-3050.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 26 day
ofJuly, 1999.
