CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-158
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACf FOR
ON-CALL SNOW PLOWING AND SANDING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the city Public Works Department does not have the capability to
maintain Nash Road and other streets in the Seward Marine Industrial Center during the
winter and may, from time to time, require additional assistance to maintain other city
streets; and
WHEREAS, a request for bids to provide snow plowing and sanding services on
an on-call basis was properly advertised; and
WHEREAS, only one bid was received in response to the city's request; and
WHEREAS, the rates quoted in the bid are typical of established rates for such
services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
METCO, In.c, for on-call snow removal and sanding services for an amount not to exceed
$20,000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
28th day of September, 1992.
