CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-160
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE CITY'S PERS
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT TO ALLOW SEWARD GENERAL
HOSPITAL TO EXECUTE A SEPARATE PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, city of Seward Resolution No. 86-2 authorized an amendment to the
Participation Agreement between the city and the Public Employees Retirement System
to include employees of Seward General Hospital in PERSi and
WHEREAS, as a result of this amendment to the city's PERS Participation
Agreement, Seward General Hospital is currently operating under an extension of the
city's agreementi and
WHEREAS, an audit was performed by PERS in April, 1982, and it was
recommended that the hospital enter into a separate Participation Agreement with PERSi
and
WHEREAS, the Seward Community Hospital Board has requested that the city
amend its PERS Participation Agreement to allow the hospital to move forward with a
separate Participation Agreement with PERSi
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Amendment No.4 to the city of Seward's PERS Participation
Agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby
APPROVED.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
14th day of December, 1992.

PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT AMENDMENT NO. 4
The Public Employees' Retirement system Participation Agreement
entered into between the state of Alaska (hereafter referred to as
the State) and the city of Seward (hereafter referred to as the
POlitical Subdivision) on January 1, 1979 and approved by the State
on January 4, 1979, is amended by changing subparagraph (2) on page
2 to include the following provision:
(2) The Political Subdivision agrees:

To exclude Seward General Hospital Employee members from
participation in PERS effective July 1, 1992. (Refer to
participation Agreement Amendment No.1 dated 2/5/86).
This amendment shall continue in effect for the duration of the
original agreement cited above and can only be terminated as
provided therein.
