Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 92-161 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO PROVIDE FULL-TIME DMV CLERK SERVICES WHEREAS, the city's DMV Clerk has worked 37-1/2 hours per week since June 26, 1991; and WHEREAS, the FY 1992 and FY 1993 Police Department budgets funded this position for 30 hours each week, creating an annual $5,649 budget shortfall; and WHEREAS, the administration wishes to extend this position to a full40-hour per week position in order to provide adequate service to the public and to bring the schedule of this office in line with other city offices; and WHEREAS, this proposed change would further increase the annual budget shortfall to a total of $7,532; and WHEREAS, the DMV Clerk's position is a significant source of revenue to the city, and this revenue has shown a steady 10% annual increase over the past two years; and WHEREAS, it is reasonable to expect DMV revenues to the city of $40,000 to $45,000 for Fiscal Year 1993; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to provide increased DMV services to the city; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The Police Department Budget for FY 1993 is hereby amended by increasing DMV revenues to $43,000 and increasing Salaries and Benefits for the DMV Clerk to $35,002. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day of September, 1992. .
