CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-189
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION
FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR PHASE II OF THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION PLAN PROJECf
WHEREAS, pursuant to the National Park Service Historic Preservation Act of
1966, certain federal share matching grants for historic preservation projects are available
to certified local governments; and
WHEREAS, the city has received a Fiscal Year 1992 historic preservation grant
award and is in the process of working on the Phase I portion of the Seward Historic
Preservation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the application prepared for such federal share matching grant for
completing the Seward Historic Preservation Plan has been reviewed; and
WHEREAS, the city is fully cognizant of the obligations and responsibilities it will
incur upon acceptance of such grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the application
process for Fiscal Year 1993 historic preservation grant funds for completing the Seward
Historic Preservation Plan.
Section 2. The Community Development Director is designated the authorized
agent for the city of Seward for administration of this project
Section 3. If awarded a grant, a resolution will be introduced to the City Council
to appropriate matching funds for this project
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
14th day of December, 1992.
