CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 92-197
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO
CITY EXPRESS TO PUMP LEACHATE FROM THE
SEWAGE COMPOST SITE
WHEREAS, a purchase order totalling $5,000 was issued to City Express to remove
leachate at the city sewage compost site; and
WHEREAS, this figure was based on an assumption that the temperature within
the compost piles would drop and the leachate would cease; and
WHEREAS, temperatures within the compost currently range between 70 and 75
degrees Fahrenheit, and leachate continues to seep from the compost; and
WHEREAS, it is now apparent that the total cost of leachate removal will exceed
the city manager's purchasing limit and will require Council approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The purchase order to City Express for removal of leachate from the
sewage compost site is hereby amended by increasing the amount by $10,000 for a total
purchase order amount not to exceed $15,000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
28th day of December, 1992.
