Sponsored by: Bencardino/Krasnansky CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-001 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCEPT WHEREAS, the Seward Schools Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) has received input from the community over the past two years regarding the institution of a Grades Seven and Eight middle school in Seward; and WHEREAS, based on community support for this concept and the PAC's study of the middle school concept, the PAC has requested the Kenai Peninsula School District to proceed with plans to institute a middle school in Seward; and WHEREAS, the Seward City Council wishes to extend its support for this concept which would provide quality education geared to the special needs of ~ and eighth grade students; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The Kenai Peninsula School District is urged to proceed with the implementation of a Grades Seven and Eight Middle School in Seward beginning with the 1993-94 school year. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 1st day of January, 1993.
