RESOLUTION NO. 93-010 Substitute
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A SEVERANCE AGREEMENT
WITH CHRISTOPHER H. GATES
WHEREAS, for over six years, Christopher Gates has worked tire sly on behalf
of the citizens of Seward in the capacity of Port Marketing Developm t Director, and
WHEREAS, during that time he has exemplified the hig st qualities of public
service - extraordinary energy and efforts, impeccable hones and integrity, and an
abiding loyalty to Seward; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gates' hard work has brought to eward a state-wide reputation
as a "can-do community," and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gates' efforts have attra ed substantial new business develop-
ment to Seward, including the Seward Forest P ducts mill and Princess Cruise Line; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gates' many year of experience and involvement on behalf of
the city constitutes a reservoir of knowl ge and experience that cannot be replaced; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gates has aciously offered to continue to make that experience
and knowledge available to citizens of Seward through a professional service
arrangement, whereby he w' make himself available as needed to assist future city
managers and staff of the' as reasonably required; and
WHEREAS, it i In the public interest that the city avail itself of this opportunity;
NOW, TH EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, LASKA, that:
Se on 1. The Severance Agreement attached hereto is approved for execution
by the lty Manager of the City of Seward
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
25th day of January, 1993.
