RESOLUTION NO. 93-011 Substitute
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A SEVERANCE AG EEMENT
WITH E. PAUL DIENER
WHEREAS, for over eight years, E. Paul Diener has
of the citizens of Seward in the capacity of Engineering a
orked tirelessly on behalf
Utilities Manager; and
WHEREAS, during that time he has exemplifie the highest qualities of public
service - extraordinary energy and efforts, impecca e honesty and integrity, and an
abiding loyalty to Seward; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Diener's hard work has r ulted in significant capital development
for Seward, including Spring Creek Corr tional Center; major electrical system
improvements; completion of public facili . s at the Seward Marine Industrial center;
reconstruction of numerous public faciliti following the floods of 1986 and 1989; Small
Boat Harbor improvements; street, side alk and lighting improvements; and new water
and sewer facilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Diener's
significant savings to Seward
performed in-house; and
fforts, experience and knowledge have contributed
allowing much of the engineering services to be
WHEREAS, Mr. D' ner's many years of experience and involvement on behalf of
the city constitutes a res oir of knowledge and experience that cannot be replaced; and
WHEREAS, r. Diener has graciously offered to continue to make that experience
and knowledge ailable to the citizens of Seward through a professional services
arrangement, ereby he will make himself available as needed to assist future city
managers an staff of the city as reasonably required; and
REAS, it is in the public interest that the city avail itself of this opportunity;
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
EWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Severance Agreement attached hereto is approved for execution
by the City Manager of the City of Seward
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
