Sponsored by: Schaefermeyer CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ADOPTING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS PRIORITY LIST FOR THE 1993 LEGISLATIVE SESSION WHEREAS, on January 12, 1993, the City Council met in a work session to discuss, receive testimony and set capital project priorities for the 1992 State Legislative session; and WHEREAS, it was determined that replacement of the Seward General Hospital facility remained one of the City's top legislative priorities proposed for legislative funding; and WHEREAS, it was determined that the first priority was construction of Phase I of a new multi-purpose dock; and WHEREAS, Phase I of the dock project would provide a cmise ship dock and would eventually be expanded to include space for the WV Tustumena and for the new UAF-IMS research vessel; and WHEREAS, it was determined that the second priority project would be the construction of the Alaska Sea Life Center; and WHEREAS, the existing electrical float service in the Small Boat Harbor presents a threat to life and property and is inadequate to meet current demands; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to complete construction of the Electric Transmission Line; and WHEREAS, Federal and State regulatory agencies have demanded that the City restore the wastewater treatment facility to service, and such demands may be enforced by federal and state courts; and WHEREAS, certain other projects are considered necessary for the health and safety, community development and economic development of the community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: . Jap Creek Truck Access Road 660,000 15. Replacement of Two Ako Generators with EMD Generatoil,175,000 . . . CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-012 Section 1. The attached list of capital improvement projects, incorporated herein by reference is hereby declared to be the official Capital Improvement Projects priority list for the City of Seward for the 1993 Legislative Session. Section 2. Funding for Phase I of a multi-purpose dock is hereby declared to be the single highest priority project of the City of Seward requested for funding by the 1993 Legislature. Section 3. Construction of the Alaska Sea Life Center is declared to be the second highest priority project, and new hospital construction is declared to be the third highest priority project for legislative funding. Section 4. Other projects declared to be essential or the health and safety, economic and community development are included in the attached list. Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 25th day of January, 1993.
