RESOLUTION NO. 93-017
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING THE HEAD START
USE AGREEMENT FOR THE 1992-93 PROGRAM YEAR
WHEREAS, the Seward Community Library has provided a facility to house the
local Head Start Program; and
WHEREAS, an eligible RurAL CAP community must provide local support up to
at least 25% of the local program budget; and
WHEREAS, each year the city is requested to execute a facilities use agreement
which sets forth the local contribution; and
WHEREAS, the Head Start Program provides a pre-school education opportunity
for children who otherwise could not participate in a like program because of the family's
economic situation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest to continue to
participate in this pre-school program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Facilities Use
Agreement with the Rural Alaska Community Action Program, Inc., a copy of which is
attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
8th day of February, 1993.

2. School Accident Insurance for Children
3. Worker's Compensation for employees
4. Travel/Accident Insurance for employees to and from meetings
Any additional insurance required for the building is the responsibility of the owner.

The Head Start community is required to provide at least 25% of what Rural Alaska
Community Action Program, Inc. (RurAL CAP) provides to operate the Head Start
program. Twenty five percent (25%) is $ 14 D62.. .

Support can be provided in various forms. A list of suggested types is provided on the
attached INKIND SUPPORT AGREEMENT. Please complete the allached agreement
with the amounts of support provided for each item.

JOHNSON O'MALLEY FUNDS

Johnson 0' MaJley funds are those funds awarded through the local school district, from
the Federal government, for native American students. Some school districts include
the number of Head Start children in their student count and therefore award a portion
of the funds to the local Head Start.
If your center receives Johnson 0' Malley funds from the local school district mark
"YES" below and complete the proposed budget. If your center does not receive the
funds then mark "NO". Once this form is complete please return it to central office
