CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE I-B OF THE 115 KV TRANSMISSION
LINE PROJECT TO NEWBERY ALASKA, INC.
WHEREAS, the city formally advertised for bids from pre-qualified bidders for
construction of Phase 1-B of the 115 KV transmission line project on December 17, 1992;
and
WHEREAS, three responsive bids were received and opened on January 21, 1993;
with Newbery Alaska, Inc. submitting the low bid of $3,494,910.60; and
WHEREAS, consulting engineers Dryden & Larue reviewed the bids and
recommended award of the contract to Newbery Alaska, Inc; and
WHEREAS, funding is available within the Transmission Line Project Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
Newbery Alaska, Inc. to construct Phase 1-B of the 115 KV transmission line project for
a total contract price of $3,494,910.60 plus a contingency of $349,491.06 for a total project
cost of not to exceed $3,844,401.66.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
8th day of February, 1993.
