CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-023
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A LEGAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH WOHLFORTH, ARGETSINGER, JOHNSON & BRECHT
WHEREAS, the city has need of professional legal services in a wide variety of
settings including employment relations, contracting, real property transactions, ordinance
and resolution drafting, environmental and financial matters, as well as more generalized
services to the city; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to engage the services of a law firm with the
required areas of expertise and experience in municipal law issues; and
WHEREAS, in August, 1992, the city advertised for requests for proposals to
provide legal services; and
WHEREAS, 21 proposals were received from legal firms; and
WHEREAS, of the 21 proposals, the Council selected three applicants who were
interviewed on January 22,1993; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 8, 1993, the City Council voted to retain the
legal services of Wohlforth, Argetsinger, Johnson and Brecht;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The legal services agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A is hereby
approved.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of February, 1993.
