RESOLUTION NO. 93-031
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, CONSIDERING, DURING THE FY1994
BUDGET PROCESS, A REQUEST FOR A GRANT TO PRODUCE
AN ICE CREAM THEATER IN SEWARD
WHEREAS, the Port City Players, a local theatrical group, is seeking a grant from
the State of Alaska to help fund the cost of operating an Ice Cream Theater in the
summer of 1994; and
WHEREAS, this program has been a success for the past two years in teaching the
children to perform in a theatrical setting; and
WHEREAS, the Port City Players will donate $3,000 to the program: and
WHEREAS, receipt of funds, totalling $3,000 from the State of Alaska, Arts Council
grant, is partially contingent on local support of the program; and
WHEREAS, the Port City Players have requested that the Council commit to
support this project by considering approval of a grant totalling $3,000 to fund the
remaining cost of the project during the FY 1994 budget process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Council shall consider the request for funding an Ice Cream
Theater during the FY 1994 budget process.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
22nd day of March, 1993.
