RESOLUTION NO. 93-058
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CH2M HILL CONTRACT FOR LOWELL POINT SEWAGE LAGOON
REPAIR PROJECT MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized a contract to METCO, Inc., to remove the
sludge and debris from the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon; and
WHEREAS, immediately following completion of the METCO contract,
Construction & Rigging, Inc., is scheduled to begin reconstruction of the lagoon; and
WHEREAS, CH2M Hill has a contract to provide project management services for
the Construction & Rigging contract; and
WHEREAS, CH2M Hill has also been tasked to investigate the failure of the
lagoon and to assist the city to recover damages, if possible, from a third party; and
WHEREAS, the current CH2M Hill contract does not provide for the coordination
of work between METCO and the initiation of the CRI work; and
WHEREAS, the city does not have staff available to perform this work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A contract amendment to the CH2M Hill professional services
agreement to provide project management services during the METCO contract to clean
up the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon for an estimated cost not to exceed $17,015 is hereby
APPROVED.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
10th day of May, 1993.
