RESOLUTION 99-163
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE DISCHARGE OF FIREWORKS BY THE
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ON THE NIGHT OF DECEMBER
31sT/JANUARY 1J.T 1999/2000, TO CELEBRATE THE CHANGING
MILLENNIUM.
WHEREAS, Seward City Code 10.10.040 prohibits the discharge of fireworks in Seward
unless specifically approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City has historically authorized the Chamber of Commerce to provide
fireworks displays;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Seward Chamber of Commerce is authorized to discharge fireworks within
the City, in honor of the changing Millennium, at a time and place which has received the prior
approval of the City Fire Chief.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of November, 1999.
