Sponsored by: Tones CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-073 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH R & M CONSULTANTS FOR DESIGN OF THE B STREET DOCK WHEREAS, the city publicly advertised for proposals for design of the B Street Dock; and WHEREAS, five professional engineering firms submitted proposals to perform a 30% design of the B Street Dock; and WHEREAS, a selection committee reviewed the proposals and R & M Consultants was selected as the best qualified firm; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Manager to negotiate a contract with R & M Consultants for 30% design of the B Street Dock; and WHEREAS, funding for the project is available from State grants including a previous grant totalling $300,000 and a pending grant totalling $462,000 which is awaiting the governor's signature; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available to enable R & M Consultants to proceed with a conceptual study and divers reconnaissance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to award a contract to R & M Consultants for 30% design of the B Street Dock for a cost not to exceed $149,718 plus a contingency totalling $10,282 for a total project cost totalling $160,000. Section 2. The remainder of the design work will be approved contingent upon approval of the $462,000 grant by the Governor. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th day of May, 1993.
