CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-075
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM DOT!PF
TO COMPLETE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE FERRY TERMINAL
BUILDING IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICAN'S WITH DISABILITIES
ACT (ADA) AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Alaska Ferry Terminal is not accessible to disabled persons and
does not comply with Federal ADA Regulations; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, DOT/PF has agreed to fund this project by
reimbursing the city for an amount not to exceed $15,000 after July 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be included in the new Seward Lease and Dock License
Agreement which will become effective July 1, 1993; and
and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to complete this project prior to July 1, 1993;
WHEREAS, A VTEC students will perform the needed work as class training, and
the City will oversee the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order to Seward
Builders Supply for an amount not to exceed $15,000.
Section 2. The sum of $15,000 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
Fund Balance Account No. 101-3070, and the sum of $15,000 is hereby appropriated to
the General Services Building Account No. 101-1180-5920.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
25th day of May, 1993.
