CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-084
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO AFOGNAK
LOGGING TO PROVIDE GRAVEL AND GRADING FOR
WATERFRONT PARK
WHEREAS, a request for proposals to provide, deliver, spread, grade and compact
2,000 cubic yards of gravel to be used to surface roads and parking areas in the
Waterfront Park was publicly advertised on May 21, 1993; and
WHEREAS, two proposals were received in response to the city's request for
proposals; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the city's cost to spread, grade and compact the
gravel would be $4.30 per cubic yard or more than double the price quoted by the low
bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to award a contract to Afognak
Logging for an amount not to exceed $20,000 to provide, deliver, spread, grade and
compact 2,000 cubic yards of gravel at the Waterfront Park in accordance with the city's
request for proposals.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
14th day of June, 1993.
