CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-095
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PURCHASE A 35 HP SEWAGE PUMP FOR PUMP STATION NO.1
FROM AL YESKA PUMP & EQUIPMENT WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION
OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, on June 16, 1993, one of the two 35HP sewage pumps in lift station
no. 1 (Harbor) failed; and
WHEREAS, it was imperative that the city replace this pump as expeditiously as
possible in order to assure uninterrupted operation of the pump station; and
WHEREAS, price quotes were solicited from two suppliers and Alyeska Pump &
Equipment, Inc., submitted the low quote;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to waive formal bid requirements for the
purchase of a replacement sewage pump.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue a purchase order to
Alyeska Pump & Equipment, Inc., in the amount of $10,826.00 for the purchase of one
35HP sewage pump.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
28th day of June, 1993.
