CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-097
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, DESIGNATING FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL FUND
FUND BALANCE FOR THE AMIjJIA'S LAW ENFORCEMENT LIABILITY POOL
WHEREAS, as a member of the Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance
Association (AMIjJIA), the city participates in the AMI.jJIA's law enforcement liability
pool (LELP); and
WHEREAS, each year the city deposits $25,000.00 with the LELP for its share of
coverage; and
WHEREAS, the city then shares in the administrative costs and losses of the pool
with other municipalities; and
WHEREAS, because the fund experienced no large losses in FY 1991 and FY 1992,
the city received a credit of $10,051.00 in FY 1993 (for FY 1991) and will receive a credit
of $16,649.00 in FY 1994 (for FY 1992); and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to set aside these credits in a reserve account
to be used in the event the LELP suffers large losses in future years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $10,051.00 of the FY 1993 General Fund Fund Balance is
hereby designated as LELP reserve funds.
Section 2. The additional sum of $16,649.00 of the FY 1994 General Fund Fund
Balance is designated as LELP reserve funds.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
28th day of June, 1993.
