CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-098
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE CITY MANAGER
BUDGET TO COVER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECRUITMENT OF
A NEW CITY MANAGER AND INTERIM CITY MANAGER COVERAGE
WHEREAS, Darryl Schafermeyer resigned his position as City Manager in January,
1993; and
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized and directed the City Clerk to advertise
this position both statewide and in selected publications outside the State of Alaska at a
cost of $1,502.23; and
WHEREAS, an interim City Manager was hired to fill this position from February
through April, 1993, at a cost of $47,027.61; and
WHEREAS, interview costs for the finalists in the City Manager selection process
totalled $1,171.83; and
WHEREAS, the city paid a total of $16,625.04 in severance pay to the former City
Manager; and
WHEREAS, these costs were not anticipated when the FY 1993 budget was
adopted; and
WHEREAS, the FY 1993 City Manager Budget has been over-spent in the amount
of $34,800.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $34,800.00 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
Fund Balance Account to the City Manager Personal Services Account No. 101-1l20-xxxx.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
28th day of June, 1993.
