RESOLUTION 99-166
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR BOARDW ALKLEASE SITE
NUMBER 6 AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A
LEASE FOR THE SITE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Council's direction, the Administration issued a Request
for Proposals for Boardwalk Lease Site Number 6, and;
WHEREAS, one proposal was received from Jack Scoby, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal is responsive and Scoby has a history of being a responsible
developer in the community, and;
WHEREAS, since only one proposal was received, it is deemed the "best of all responses",
and;
WHEREAS, the sole proposal is consistent with the request for proposal requirements and
other established businesses in the area, and;
WHEREAS, this lease would add approximately $2,700 per year in lease revenues,
divided evenly between the Harbor Enterprise and General funds, and includes a provision to pay
the utility upgrade and boardwalk assessment of approximately $2,700 per year for ten years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to accept Jack Scoby's proposal for Boardwalk Lease
Site Number 6.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate a lease agreement between the City
of Seward and Jack Scoby for Boardwalk Lease Site Number 6.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 13
day of December, 1999.
