Sponsored by: Tones CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH ORDINANCE NO. 93-28, PLACING A SURCHARGE ON TELEPHONE BILLS TO FUND ENHANCED 911 SERVICES WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has introduced Ordinance No. 93-28, which would levy a borough-wide surcharge on local access telephone lines in order to fund the operation of the enhanced 911 emergency systems communication system; and WHEREAS, funding for a dispatch position within the Seward Police Department for FY 1994 is contingent upon approval of Ordinance No. 93-28; and WHEREAS, adequate dispatch services are necessary to ensure the life and safety of the citizens of the city and the borough; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Council and the City of Seward support approval of Kenai Peninsula Borough Ordinance 93-28. Section 2. Copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to Mayor Gilman and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly Members. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
