CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING AN EXTENSION OF THE
COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE ALASKA
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION OF PARKS
FOR USE AS A TRAILHEAD PARKING AREA FOR THE
CAINES HEAD STATE RECREATION AREA
WHEREAS, for the past five years, the city of Seward and the Alaska Division of
Parks and outdoor Recreation have, through a cooperative management agreement,
provided a public parking lot and trailhead at Lowell Point for the Caines Head State
Recreation Area; and
WHEREAS, the state and the city wish to extend this agreement for an additional
ten years; and
WHEREAS, the city has no other planned use for the subject property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city finds it to be in the public interest to allow the state of Alaska
to continue the use of a portion of Lot 3, Deacon Subdivision No.2, at no cost and
without benefit of an appraisal of the property.
Section 2. The March 1, 1988, Cooperative Management Agreement between the
city and the Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation is hereby amended to
extend the agreement for an additional ten (10) years through February 28, 2003.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days after passage and
posting as required by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of August, 1993.
