RESOLUTION 99-168
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MIKUNDA, COTTRELL & CO. EXTEND-
ING THE AGREEMENT TO PERFORM THE EXTERNAL AUDIT
SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF SEWARD FOR THE SIX MONTH PERIOD
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1999 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAN-
AGER TO SIGN AMENDMENT NO.1
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 97-063 on May 12,1997 approving a
professional services agreement with Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. (Mikunda) to perform the City's
external audit services for a period ofthree years beginning with FY1997 through FY1999; and
WHEREAS, the agreement allows for two one-year options for renewal subject to approval
of both parties; and
WHEREAS, Mikunda has agreed to extend the agreement for one year to perform the
external audit services for the six month period ending December 31, 1999 for an amount not to
exceed $37,600; and
WHEREAS, based on the short fiscal year, Mikunda's familiarity with the City's financial
operations, the fact that the City is just completing its FY1999 financial audit reports and the City's
good working relationship with Mikunda.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Amendment No.1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Mikunda, Cottrell
& Co. be approved extending the Agreement to perform the external audit services for the City of
Seward for the six month period ending December 31, 1999.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to sign Amendment No. 1 to the Professional
Services Agreement with Mikunda, Cottrell & Co.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
