CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-121
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE QUfEKCAK NATIVE TRIBE
TO ISSUE VENDOR PERMITS FOR THE SOLICITATION OF FUNDS
OR SALES ON CITY PROPERTY DURING THE BACK TO EARTH
NATIVE SOBRIETY POW WOW
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 92-12 provides that solicitation of funds or sales on city
property is prohibited unless specifically authorized by resolution of the City Council;
and
WHEREAS, the Qutekcak Native Tribe has requested a special use permit to
provide for vendor booths to be placed at the Little League baseball field located at 4th
Avenue and D Street; and
WHEREAS, native crafts will be sold at the "Back to Earth Native Sobriety Pow
Wow" with 10 percent of the proceeds to be used to host other pro-sobriety events in
Seward;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Qutekcak Native Tribe is hereby authorized to issue permits to
vendors for the sale of goods and/or the solicitation of funds on city property for the
period August 28-29,1993.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
23rd day of August, 1993.
