RESOLUTION 99-169
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE LEGAL BUDGET FOR
THE SIX MONTH PERIOD ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1999 AND APPRO-
PRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, with the billings through November 20, 1999 (83.3% ofFY 99B), the General
Fund legal is at 88.1 % of budget, the Parking Revenue fund is at 0.0% of budget, the Small Boat
Harbor Fund is at 85.6% of budget, the Electric Fund is at 10.6% of budget and the Water/Sewer
Fund is at 0.0% of budget; and
WHEREAS, the overall legal expenditures through November 20, 1999 total $70,160 and
is at 69.6% of the FY 99B overall legal budget; and
WHEREAS, there was no legal budget established for the new SMIC Enterprise Fund in the
six month budget ending December 31, 1999; and
WHEREAS, there have been legal charges related to the operation ofthe SMIC Enterprise
Fund; and
WHEREAS, a SMIC General legal subject matter no. 4170 was established to account for
legal expenses related to the operations of the SMIC Enterprise Fund; and
WHEREAS, there is not enough monies within the SMIC Enteiprise Fund FY 99B budget
for the legal fees; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that monies from the General Fund fund balance be
appropriated to cover the legal fees in the SMIC Enterprise Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $10,000 be appropriated from the General Fund fund
balance, account no. 101-0000-3050 to the SMIC Enterprise Fund General Legal, account no. 417-
4500-5170-4170 for legal costs charged to the SMIC Enterprise Fund through December 31,1999.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
