CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-136
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 93-128 AND
APPROVING A NEWSPAPER VENDORS PERMIT FOR THE SALE
OF THE SEWARD PHOENIX LOG
WHEREAS, Seward City Code ~ 8.10.015 prohibits the sale of goods on city
property unless specifically authorized by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, owners of the Seward Phoenix Log requested and received such
authorization to permit the sales of newspapers on public property including the beach
area, campgrounds, the Small Boat Harbor and city streets and sidewalks; and
WHEREAS, it has since been found that commercial activities are prohibited in
public campgrounds and parks;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Resolution No. 93-128 is hereby rescinded.
Section 2. The Seward Phoenix Log is hereby issued a vendor permit for the sale
of newspapers on city-owned public property to include the Small Boat Harbor and city
streets and sidewalks.
Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall serve as the permit issued in accordance
with Section 8.10.015 of the Seward City Code.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of September, 1993.
