CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-141
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, DIRECTING THE ADMINISTRATION
TO PREPARE FEDERAL LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION
FUND GRANT PROPOSALS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1995
WHEREAS, the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is soliciting
grant applications for Fiscal Year 1995 funding; and
WHEREAS, three projects listed within the 1993 Parks Master Plan will qualify for
funding through the L WCF grant program; and
WHEREAS, the LWCF is a matching grant program and will require a commit-
ment on the part of the City Council to fund the city's share of any project funded under
the program; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to seek funding for city enhancement
projects through all available avenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The administration is hereby directed to prepare L WCF grant proposals
in accordance with the criteria set forth in the grant application packet for the following
projects:
1. Phase II - Two Lakes Park Trail Enhancement .............. $122,272
2. Gateway Subdivision land acquisition and play-
ground (Phase I - acquire; Phase II - develop) ............... 55,000
3. Ballfield/Park Complex adjacent to school
{Phase I - acquire; Phase II - ballfield;
Phase III - park and playground ........................ 480,000
Section 2. The figures listed above represent total project amounts, and it is the
intent of the Council to provide matching funds not to exceed one-half the total cost of
each project.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
27th day of September, 1993.
