Sponsored by: Tones CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 93-143 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, WAIVING MOORAGE CHARGES FOR ALL TRANSIENT U. S. COAST GUARD CUITERS WHEREAS, the Harbormaster has found that it is the policy of other Alaskan marine facilities to waive moorage fees for visiting U. S. Coast Guard cutters; and WHEREAS, it is the city's desire to extend this courtesy to the Coast Guard in an effort to remain consistent with other Alaskan communities and to encourage favorable relations between the city and the U. S. Coast Guard and the captains of these vessels; and WHEREAS, the city's marine tariffs provide for special contracts and agreements which are consistent with local, state and federal law; and WHEREAS, a waiver of fees for transient Coast Guard cutters falls under this provision in the city's tariffs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. All U. S. Coast Guard transient moorage fees are hereby WAIVED. Section 2. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the U. S. Coast Guard and the Federal Maritime Commission for information. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 11th day of October, 1993.
