CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-182
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE HARBOR TO PROCEED
WITH THE PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR
NORTHEAST LAUNCH RAMP, APPROVING THE PROPOSED PRELIMINARY
BUDGET AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, The City Council approved Resolution No. 93-104 which authorized
the City of Seward to enter into a cooperative agreement with the Alaska Department of
Fish and Game to build a boat launch ramp funded by federal and state grants in the
amount of $400,000; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Fish and Game authorized the City to proceed
with the preliminary design of the boat launch ramp project for an approved amount not
to exceed $20,000; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary design is required to obtain a permit from the Corps
of Engineers and final approval from U. S. Fish and Wildlife to commit the total amount
of $400,000 to fund the project; and
WHEREAS, a project budget must be approved by the Council to allow any
encumbrance of funds by the Harbor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A capital project fund, Fund No. 285 Northeast Boat Launch Ramp, is
hereby established, and funds in the amount of $400,000 are appropriated from State
Grant Revenues, Account No. 285-4680-0200 to Other Special Services, Account No. 285-
2850-5190.
Section 2. Funding for the project is contingent upon receipt of a permit from the
Corps of Engineers and final approval from the U. S. Fish and Wildlife.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
13th day of December, 1993.
