Sponsored by: Tones CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 94-010 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING A CHANGE ORDER TO THE METCO CONTRACT FOR SEWAGE LAGOON CLEAN-UP WHEREAS, on April 29, 1993, the City Council awarded a contract to MET CO, Inc., in the amount of $67,400 to complete the clean-up of the Lowell Point Sewage Lagoon; and WHEREAS, this contract amount was based on a cost of $40 per yard to remove an estimated 200 cubic yards of sludge from the lagoon; and WHEREAS, the actual quantity of sludge removed under this contract was 520 yards, and the contractor has requested payment in the amount of $12,800 for removal of an additional 320 yards over the original contract amount; and WHEREAS, the contractor has requested an additional $2,150.00 to cover the cost of added work required for composing of the removed sludge; and WHEREAS, the engineers responsible for the oversight of the clean-up project have recommended that the city pay the requested amounts; and WHEREAS, METCO completed this project at a reasonable price and in a timely manner and did an excellent job in completing a task that two other contractors had been unable to complete; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. Change Order No. I, in the amount of $14,950.00, to the METCO, Inc., contract for Sewage Lagoon Clean-Up is hereby APPROVED, and the total contract amount is hereby increased from $67,400.00 to $82,350.00. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th day of January, 1994.
