RESOLUTION NO. 94-024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
FORTY-YARD TRASH DUMPSTERS FOR THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR
WHEREAS, there has been an increase in trash generated in the small boat harbor
over the past few years; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to provide covered containers for the trash
to avoid spillage and litter caused by wind and seagulls; and
WHEREAS, the harbor and Jason Enterprises have contacted local vendors to
provide dumpsters for the harbor and no response was received; and
WHEREAS, Jason Enterprises has, subsequently, contacted vendors in Seattle and
Alaska, and the proposal submitted by Valley Sheet Metal to construct two forty-yard
dumpsters was determined to be the most responsive and cost effective proposal; and
WHEREAS, Jason Enterprises has agreed to sell the containers to the City at cost;
and
WHEREAS, funding is available from Harbor Enterprise Fund revenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The city manager is authorized to issue a purchase order to Jason
Enterprises for the purchase of two forty-yard dumpsters for an amount not to exceed
$11,500.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this
14th day of February, 1994.
