CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-083
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING CONTRACTS TO COMPLETE
AERIAL MAPPING OF THE SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER
WHEREAS, the city contracted with AeroMap U. S. to take aerial
photographs suitable for mapping the SMIC area; and
WHEREAS, the topography maps
photographs are needed for design of
in the SMle; and
produced from the aerial
current and future projects
WHEREAS, a survey of the premarks at SMIC must be completed
before the scale maps can be developed; and
WHEREAS, development of the scale maps will also require
AeroMap U. S. to perform additional services; and
WHEREAS, the award of contracts for professional services are
exempt from the bid procedures set forth in the City eode; and
WHEREAS, both Alaska Land Surveys and AeroMap U. S. are
professional contractors well qualified to perform the work
necessary to produce the maps and have submitted cost proposals to
the city; and
WHEREAS, funding for the mapping is available within the
Harbor Expansion Bond funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNeIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award a
contract to Alaska Land Surveys in an amount not to exceed
$3,500.00 to survey premarks in preparation for mapping the SMIC.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to award
a contract to AeroMap U. S. in an amount not to exceed $11,000.00
to perform aerotriangulation and digital topographic mapping of the
SMIC.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 10th day of July, 1989.
