Sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 89-084 (Substitute) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, REVISING THE PRISON CONSTRueTION BUDGET AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SCCC CRAFTS AND PRISON INDUSTRIES ADDITIONS WHEREAS, the city of Seward publicly advertised a request for bids to construct a crafts and prison industries building addition at the Spring Creek Correctional Center; and WHEREAS, DOT/PF has reviewed all bids and has determined that H2W submitted the low bid, exclusive of Alternates 1 and 2; and WHEREAS, without additional funding, DOT/PF has determined that there are insufficient funds to award even the basic bid; and WHEREAS, the state of Alaska Department of Corrections has committed an additional Three Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($360,000.00) to permit award of the basic bid; and WHEREAS, DOT/PF has reviewed the bids and found the bid of H2W to be responsive and has found H2W to be a responsible bidder and has recommended award; and WHEREAS, funding for this project will come from the balance of the construction funds plus additional funds to be provided by the state Department of Corrections; and WHEREAS, DOT/PF has agreed to continue to provide project management services under the Project Management Services Agreement of October 17, 1985, as amended, and to amend the Transfer of Responsibilities Agreement dated October 11, 1985, to provide for the additional funding; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE eITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The Spring Creek Correctional Center budget is hereby amended to include funding from the state Department of Corrections in the amount of Three Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($360,000.00), for a total prison industries project budget of Two Million, Five Hundred Seventy-Six Thousand, Fifty-Eight Dollars ($2,576,058.00). CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 89-084 Hundred Twenty-Eight Thousand Dollars ($2,328,000.00) for construc- tion of the crafts and prison industries addition at secc. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the required amendments to the Project Management Services Agreement and the Transfer of Responsibilities Agreement to continue provision of management services and funding. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th day of July, 1989.
