CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-093
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR A CONTRIBUTION TO THE SEWARD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
FOR ENHANCEMENT OF THE NEW SALMON DERBY BOOTH
WHEREAS, the Seward Chamber of Commerce through its
volunteers, organization and supporting agencies, including the
city of Seward, organizes and hosts the Seward Silver Salmon Derby
annually; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Silver Salmon Derby attracts thousands of
visitors to the community to participate in the Derby activities
and area attractions; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward has condemned and removed the old
Salmon Derby Booth; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Chamber of Commerce has constructed a new
Silver Salmon Derby booth which will serve as the headquarters for
this annual event; and
WHEREAS, the new Salmon Derby Booth will add to the
attractiveness of the event and the harbor area;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE eITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
section 1. The City Manager is authorized to contribute the
sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) to the Seward Chamber of
Commerce for the purpose of enhancement of the new Silver Salmon
Derby booth located in the Small Boat Harbor area.
Section 2. The sum of $5,000 is hereby appropriated from the
Harbor Fund Account No. 401-411-561-10-44, supplies, to the Harbor
Fund Account No. 401-411-561-10-61, contribution.
section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.

ALASKA, this 14th day of August, 1989.
